Professor Dr Sayeba Akhter is one of the renowned Obstetrics, Gynae and Infertility Specialists in Bangladesh. She has been making outstanding contributions to the development of women’s health, reducing maternal mortality and treating infertility in Bangladesh for a long time. Her medical experience and academic expertise have established her as a leading physician in the country.
After her MBBS degree, she obtained FCPS (OBGYN), FCPS (Pakistan), FICMCH (India), DRH (UK) degrees, which bear witness to her international standard training and qualifications. Professor Dr Sayeba Akhter has served as Professor and Head (Ex Professor & Head) of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital. Under her leadership, numerous women have received modern treatment and advice.
She is particularly experienced in the treatment of gynecology, obstetric complications, women’s hormonal problems, menstrual irregularities, uterine or ovarian tumors, infertility and reproductive health-related diseases. Her caring attitude towards patients, professionalism and ethical medical approach have earned her the respect of patients and colleagues alike.
She has actively participated in numerous seminars, research and training programs on women’s health at home and abroad. She is also working to increase awareness of women’s reproductive health and ensure safe motherhood.
